Injury Update: The Unfortunate Side of Training Camp

NFL.com reported several injuries from across the league’s training camps for Thursday’s practice.  Although the list is not all-inclusive by any means, it covers some of the major injury news, and reminds us that contact in camp can end up just like it can during the regular season.

Mike Wallace, the highly paid and highly talented Miami Dolphins receiver, missed his second straight day of practice with “a tweaked hamstring.”

Chiefs safety was carted off the field and treated for a lower leg and/or right foot injury.  HC Andy Reid determined it to be “ankle soreness,” noting that it definitely wasn’t anything regarding the Achilles.

Continuing with the trend of starting safeties, Green Bay’s Morgan Burnett sat out with an ankle injury.

Calvin Pryor returned to Jets practice following a concussion.  The Colts offensive line took a hit when OL Donald Thomas suffered a torn quad.  He looks to miss action for a while.

One last significant injury occurred when Baltimore Ravens fourth round draft pick, Brent Urban, tore his ACL, just after making a comeback off of an ankle injury.
