Christa: For the people who do not know your story, how did you wind up choosing Marian University?
Dwayne Beckford: I got released from Purdue and I needed to find a good school that won games and was local.
C: Since you are from a smaller school, how do you plan on making yourself stand out and noticed by scouts?
DB: Just with pure athleticism and my film.
C: What would you say are your strengths and weaknesses?
DB: My strength would be my versatility I can play and LB position in and defense, my biggest weakness would be my in-game emotions sometimes I get to intense in the game and its hard to focus on in-game situations.
C: What separates you from the other players at your position?
DB: I have elite speed and strength most players at my position have one or the other I have a unique combination of both.
C: Is there a specific player that you try to model your game after?
DB: I model my game and resemble Von Miller I try to use some of his same move coming off the edge.
C: Who was the toughest player you’ve ever faced in your college career?
DB: The toughest player I played against was Russell Wilson. He wasn’t very big but he had a presence about him. He was fast and he had a great arm.
C: How do you prepare for game day? Do you have any game day rituals?
DB: Every game I try to relax as much as possible, try to stay loose. I never play tight. I also eat honey and peanut butter.
C: If could be any superhero who would it be and why?
DB: If I could be any superhero I would be black suit Spider man. He was super strong and has the coolest costume.
C: What was your favorite moment/play at Marian University?
DB: My favorite moment at Marian was winning a national championship. I never won a championship before and it really was a great filling to finally have all of our hard work pay off.
