Rotchill Medor

I had the pleasure of interviewing Rotchill, during which he told me more about his background, his personality and his overall love for football.

Christa: For the people who do not know your story, how did you wind up choosing Monmouth University?

Rotchill Medor: Well 1st I went To Southern Conn. State which I red-shirted my 1st year, then I transferred to ASA Junior College and played two seasons there.
Coming out of ASA I had many D1A interest but when the time came No 1 put money on the table and I transferred to Monmouth from there.

C: Since you are from a smaller school, how do you plan on making yourself stand out and noticed by scouts?

RM: I plan on playing in the Dream Bowl to showcase my talent on a bigger stage and working twice as hard to reach my goals numbers wise for the regional combine and pro day.

C: What would you say are your strengths and weaknesses?

RM: One of my best strengths is my ability to out work my opponents.
One of weaknesses is being too aggressive at times that might cause my team a penalty.

C: What qualities/characteristics separates you from the other players at your position?

RM: Being consistent is a characteristic that separates me from others. Coaches can expect me to be the same player each snap of the game.

C: Do you prefer run blocking or pass blocking?

RM: Originally I preferred run blocking but pass blocking is something I grew a passion for because in college football the critical downs are usually 3rd in long situations, which is why I take that so seriously.

C: Is there a specific player that you try to model your game after?

RM: Jason Peters of the Philadelphia Eagles.

C: Which current or former NFL player do you think you resemble and why?

RM: Jason Peters, because he is consistent, plays aggressive, and [is] highly competitive.

C: How do you prepare for game day? Do you have any game day rituals?

RM: The morning of the game I have to do 200 Push Ups and Sit Ups while listening to the Fabolous “From Nothing To Something” Album.
I also have to make sure I have a bowl of mixed fruit before I go out for Pre Game.

C: If could be any superhero who would it be and why?

RM: Batman because the only special super power he had been his brain and he used that to create inventions that assisted him as he fought crime.

C: What was your favorite moment/play at Monmouth University?

RM: My favorite moment at Monmouth was when we beat Liberty at Home this year for the 1st time in school history.
