I had the pleasure of interviewing Larves, during which time he told me more about his background, his personality and his overall love for football.

Christa: For the people who do not know your story, how did you wind up choosing South Dakota State?

LJ: I came out of Juco wanting to experience a new environment and South Dakota State was the complete opposite of what I was use too and the program was headed in the right direction.

C: How do you plan on making yourself stand out and noticed by scouts?

LJ: My size alone makes me standout but I have very strong hands that’s something that I want them to notice right away.

C: What would you say are your strengths and weaknesses?

LJ: My strengths are catching and blocking and I would say my weakness is my vertical attack its needs to get better and stronger far as speed and decision making.

C: What separates you from the other players at your position?

LJ: My blocking ability, not a lot of WR like to block and also I can transform into hybrid TE which makes me versatile.

C: Which current or former NFL player do you think you resemble and why?

LJ: I would say like Anquan Boldin and Justin Hunter mixed together because Boldin has great hands and physical and Hunter because of my routes I’ve added his game to mines.

C: Who is the toughest player you’ve ever faced in your college career?

LJ: In the Missouri Valley Conference I believe all corners are pretty competitive.

C: Where do you see yourself in five years?

LJ: On a NFL team somewhere or CFL.

C: How do you prepare for game day? Do you have any game day rituals?

LJ: I listen to a lot of music that speaks about the struggle because it makes me realize where I came from and motivates me tremendously and my game ritual I always run out to the opposite end zone and I get on one knee and pray thanking God for this opportunity.

C: What is the most inspirational or powerful thing a coach has ever said to you in your college career?

LJ: A coach told me I have what it takes but if I am not giving my best effort I am wasting my god given gift. That will always be my motivation to keep grinding.

C: What was your favorite moment/play at South Dakota State?

LJ: When I had to step up when a teammate went down in the NDSU game my junior year and I came in and had the best game of my career.
